As an Assistant Chaplain, Lynn volunteers in pastoral services at the Indiana Women's Prison. She provides essential, sensitive, and appropriate pastoral care to the women, who often have serious emotional problems and deep spiritual concerns. She consistently adheres to issues of confidentiality, security, and treatment protocol. She relates well to staff and provides an excellent role model for the women. Her genuine love for the women and her honesty, energy, enthusiasm, and sense of humor are a definite plus in a corrections setting.

About Lynn -- From (The Late) Chaplain John Merriweather: Marion County Jail, Indianapolis, Indiana
Lynn has worked in our office at the Marion County Jail since 1987. She provides a valuable and meaningful service to the inmates in our facility. She is particularly effective with the juveniles housed here who have been waived over from the Juvenile Court and are waiting to be tried as adults. Lynn's deep faith and love for God are evident in her passion for the lost and her compassion for hurting people. Lynn has the gift of helping people whom society perceives to be "nobodies", and she helps them feel like somebody. That is not easy to do, but that is precisely what gives Lynn the credibility among the inmates that has them seeking out her counsel. We are grateful for her service here and encourage you to seriously consider Shepherd's Heart Ministries, Inc. for financial support.

About Shawn -- From (The late) Dr. Howard Dobbs -- TCM Internation and Fellow Church Member.
I count it a priviledge to recommend for your consideration, Shawn Springer. I have had the privilege of sharing with Shawn in various Bible study groups at our church. About Lynn
God Bless You. My names is Cortez D. Jones, Sr. and I am incarcerate at the Indiana State Prison where I have been for the past 5 years. But I have been locked up for a total of 9 1/2 years. The reason for this letter is simply to say thank you for supporting Shepherd's Heart Ministries, Inc. This ministry has been a tremendous support to me and has aided in my growth and relationship with the Lord. I think the Lord for your support, as well as give thanks to Mrs. "Mama Lynn" Springer, and her husband, Shawn Springer, for accepting and allowing her to give and share the love that the Lord has put in her heart. Shawn is also a great Bible teacher and I have learned much from him. I can vividly remember myself as a 20 year old child sitting in her office at the Marion County Jail, crying my heart out as I listened to Mama Lynn tell me, not only of God's love for me, but also her own. Whoever would have thought that a young black male who was used to gang-bangin' and selling drugs would be breaking down under the care of this loving white woman? It wasn't long after that, that she had me in the baptismal pool and ever since that day I have earnestly and faithfully tried my best to walk with the Lord. Now at the age of 30, I look back on those years of my incarceration and she has been here every step of the way; visits to help me through, words of encouragement when I'm down, reminders of scripture and God's love when I'm lost, and yes, even a scolding when I'm wrong. I know it's the Lord in her that drives her to do the things she does and care the way she cares, and for that I say "Thank you, Jesus", and to you I say thank you for supporting Shepherd's Heart Ministries. Before I close, I'd like to say that it isn't easy in the streets and it's even harder in prison; but when you have someone that loves you, supports you, and encourages you to do better, it really makes you want to do better, not only for yourself, but for them as well. I just graduated from Ball State University with my Bachelors Degree, minoring in Computer Applications and Sociology. I've been attending our Christian Chapel Services here at the prison for the past 5 years where I help serve on the leadership board. I give all glory to God for keeping me and walking with me over the years, but I give thanks and gratitude to Mama Lynn for supporting and loving me through it all because without her who know what my focus would be on today. So again, I thank you for supporting Shepherd's Heart Ministries, and may you, your families, and your church be blessed. Be encouraged.

About Lynn:
To Whom It May Concern:
I would like to inform you how important Miss Lynn's work with juveniles is. When I first came here, I was a drug using, stealing, not caring thug. But after some things happened, I wanted to come to God. Well, Miss Lynn helped me and encouraged me to get a relationship with God. Without her support and encouragement I would have probably fallen back to where I began. Whenever I feel stressed out and ready to give up or blow up, she always has a scripture to show me or something she says will make me think about how I'm acting and how God wants me to act. Sometimes I don't always understand the Bible. Well, when this happens, she tries to help me understand. Without living for God, I probably wouldn't live much longer. And I know that if it wasn't for Miss Lynn, then I probably would have dropped God and acted like most inmates act, hard and bad. It is really hard to try to live for God in a place like this, but Miss Lynn makes it alittle easier to deal with. She is an example to show that people can be caring and good. She doesn't treat you like a stranger or a prisoner. She treats you like a friend. And that makes it easier to believe what she says when she says that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. With Miss Lynn's help I'm doing a Bible Study course and have been baptized and have given my life to God. We need more people like her in places like this. I few had more people like her then there would probably be less people messing up again and coming back. She's helped me to understand that I can't do it by myself. I NEED GOD!! I wish I would have known someone like her when I was a little kid, cause if I had I probably wouldn't be here today.
Sincerely yours,
David (age 17) -- Marion County Jail
